Nude by Nature

On a sunny Friday afternoon, while waiting on an rendez vous at Opera station, directly in front of the arresting Parisian Opera, someone tapped me on the shoulder. I stared sightlessly at the sun bouncing off the golden statues towering over us all, and spun around to see who it was.

A fresh faced young lady asked me something timidly but I didn’t quite hear. She then handed me a card from Nude by Nature and told me to stop in at Nocibé to redeem my gift by presenting this gift card. So, off I went at a trot’s pace because two of my favorite things were on offer: free + make-up!

This was my first time entering a Nocibé. I’m ashamedly oblivious and never noticed it was a beauty store. The store on Boulevard des Capucines is rectangular stretching back into itself, well lit, and neatly arranged to exhibit all the different beauty and perfume ranges. Honestly, it was a refreshing surprise when compared to my usual beauty in-store experiences: teeming with so many people I can barely walk without bumping into someone and then there’s the constant assault on my sense of smell caused by too many eye-watering, pungent perfumes that punctuate the air.

The Nude by Nature display had a make-over animation in session. Those of us waiting to redeem our gift cards were attended to by another lady with shimmering skin (seriously what’s with these people with the glowing skin?) She told us about the brand and why we should give it a chance to live up to everything she just said about it. Then the moment of truth finally arrived… gift time. The gift: Nude by Nature Touch of Glow Highlight Stick! Shade 03 Bronze.

Why Nude by Nature?

As it’s name suggests, Nude by Nature sticks very close to nature in the production of its products using natural Australian ingredients instead of synthetic ones and is animal cruelty and paraben free. The lady in the store also mentioned that it was all plant based so all the vegans and vegetarians out there are good to go. The main ingredients of my highlight stick are: Desert lime, Kakadu plum and Quandong.

What do I think?

  • I loved that the free thing (sample) was a full sized product and not the miserly, use only twice because that’s all there’s enough for sized samples brands usually give out.
  • The packaging is clean with white and nude as the principle colours.
  • The glow stick has a creamy feel and applies easily. It blends easily with fingers, sponge blender and brush.

All in all, I am loving it and use it to contour my cheeks, eyebrows and under eyes. There’s even a nifty little video detailing how to use it on its own and with the other highlight/contour products on the website product page.
